Rallies 2008.
The First rally for 2008. Februuary
Held at Barnstones in Great Bourton near Banbury.
Friday once every one was set up and ready to rest. All managed to squeeze into Bill
and Roz's van for drinks..
A very warm welcome to the new members Steven and Jeanette, hope the heads don't
hurt to much... lol.
After every one doing there own thing during Saturday.
In the evening we all met up and went to the Cromwell Hotel in Banbury .
It was nice to See Ray and Jean back and looking so well..
The meal was fantastic and the staff most appreciative of the humor being flung
around the table..
A very good and well run place to eat....
Sunday was a quite easy day with no rush to get away and after a cup of Tea/Coffee
some went home, some went down into town and some just got the vans and cars
sorted for the journey home.
March (Easter Rally)
Easter colouring competition.

TEC Rally. Baston Fen.
With much anticipation for the pending weekend 6 units gathered on a bleak
Baston Fen.
The wind was whistling across the site and several stories were told of
certainly weatherwise not the ideal 1st rally for new members Adrian,Lyn,Jasmine
& Emily.
but never the less a warm TEC'y welcome to you all.
Friday was mostly arrivals & setting up for the weekend ending with battening
down the hatch's
for what turned out to be a stormy night. Saturday was far better with trips to near
by shopping & garden centres
for most except for us who had to return to Northampton to tend to Emily's pony!!!
What a surprise to see the weather forecasters have got it right as we were
treated to 3" of snow on
Easter sunday morning. Suitable booted & suited the 1st TEC snowman was built
followed by a snowball fight
that was enjoyed by kids large & small. Hot drinks & Hot Cross buns were supplied
by John & Tania as we gathered
outside their van. Eventually the easter egg hunt was set up while the junior
members
completed their colouring competition. a difficult decision to find a winner so our
chairman declared them all
winners & all the children received a prize. The easter egg hunt then started &
after a frantic search each child
left with their prizes. Well done Helen & Hilary for organising these events.
Once again time to go home, so after the raffle & hot drinks outside Mark &
Hilary's van, we all hitched up &
tried to leave. Oh dear!!! traction was a problem, fortunately my trusty 4x4 made
light work by extracting the stranded units to the safety of firm ground, the last
unit (me) finally off site by 1-30.
What looked like a gloomy weekend turned out very well in the end. Thanks to
those who attended & look forward
to seeing you again soon. Ken (Vice Chairman)
Rally Greenhills Farm. April.
Friday. I arrived at site only to fall in behind another T.E.C.
Once in reception i find i am the last instead of the first to arrive..
No Point in putting out TEC MEN to direct people onto site.
Once set up and a hello to one and all, Decided it was not worth putting up the Gazibo.
due to the windy conditions. Then we were joined by Alex and Carol.
It was nice to see a few we hadn't seen for a while ,Saturday as usual every one shot
off and did there own thing.
In the evening every one met up and followed in convoy and drove to Sturdy's Castle.
Was met by Ray and Jean and Gary and his dad, and a warm welcome to the wardens
from Diamond farm.
Didn't take long before sides started to hurt due to the laughter around the table.
The meal was brilliant. well worth another trip.
Not sure if Ray had double helpings but he managed to plough through it all...
We rounded off the evening with a raffle, which went off very well..
Sunday morning we had a relaxing period of sorting out and loading ready to head off
home.. no panic as we had no deadline to leave by.
coffee was served in Ken and Helen's Van.
We found out that there was a ploughing compitition going on in the village which
made for a very muddy road, so most took another route home rather than driving
through the mud.
once again a most enjoyable week end and thanks to every one who helped make it
so. looking forward to next one.
May Bank Holiday
First off a apology to those whose weekend was spoilt due to a very quick change in
venue.
Friday 5 units arrived at North Runcton with 2 more units arriving on Saturday.
Friday was a very pleasant evening spent in Steve and Jeanette 's Van.
not sure but it looked like about 6 bottles of wines was consumed.....
Saturday was spent as each couple wanted to spend the day.
Some went to the Butterfly park, some to Kings Lynn others to Swaffham.
But all enjoyed them selves.
Saturday evening we met up in the Gazibo and a big thanks you to those who
dressed up for the occasion.
The yard of ale was won by John..
Not sure who won the welly wangging but i think it was Mark..
Sunday was spent once again every one doing there own thing.
In the afternoon once everyone was back on site there was a worm hunt for the kids
which went down very well.. (Sweet ones i might add)
In the evening it was the kiddies turn to have a go at the yard of ale..
Well half a yard of squash..
Well done to Norman who won.
We had made arrangements with the site owner to stay late and there fore we were
not expected to leave by 12.00 noon . So the raffle was held on saturday night.
Then those that wanted to shoot of to the sea side did so,on Monday morning.
Others spent the time sorting and loading vans.
A few went off to the local pub and had a very nice home cooked meal
before going back to the vans and heading home.
Once again a most enjoyable weekend was had by all..
hopeing all had a safe trip home.

Stratford upon Avon June 6th - 8th.
Once again a very quick change of venue due to Riverside still being Flooded.
We remained in the Stratford Area and found a rather nice site with very nice
and accommodating staff.
Saturday as is the norm every one once up did there own thing all day.
The gazebo's were erected during the day and in the evening all the bar b q's
were lit and with everyone in costume we had a great evening eating, drinking
and chatting. We even tried out the new drinks fountain obtained by Helen for
everyone's enjoyment.
Sunday was spent at a leisurely pace because we did not have any set time to
leave the site. The news did come through that Tanja had a girl and so all our
best wishes go to Tanya and John. Hope the new addition doesn't make to much
extra work for you.....
Tony and Leslie were unable to attend this rally as planned. Due to Leslie falling
and braking both her wrist and an ankle.
Here's hoping all is healing well and hope to see you on future Rallies.
