What a great start to the 2010 season. 9 units arrived Friday to attend the Valentine
Rally at Anita’s at Mollington, for a 2 night break with a Valentine meal at the
Cromwell Lodge in Banbury Saturday where 26 romantics dined together for the
evening. The party was boosted with new members and guests to who we extend a
very warm TEC’y welcome. We were also pleased to welcome our founder member
Ray Cole and his wife Jean, who joined us for the weekend before their departure
back to their home in France. Finally, a warm welcome to Gary and Sue from Elite
Caravans, who we have not seen for sometime on a TEC’y event but hope to see
you again soon on future events.
Saturday we were treated to dry sunny but chilly day which allowed several groups
to venture into Banbury for some retail therapy while those left behind on site
settled down in front of the T.V. to watch the Rugby before we all met up again for
the Valentine evening meal.
Sunday again started cold but sunny with coffee and biscuits, supplied by Helen,
followed by a raffle which has gone to boost club funds, so thank you to you all who
supplied raffle prizes and bought tickets
Finally it was time for us to pack up and head for home. Thank you to you all who
made this first rally a success. Especially to Bill who worked really hard to make the
Valentine night happen. Unfortunately the venue let us down with poor service.
Having said that, the evening was a great success. If this rally is the bench mark for
the season, what a great season we are going to have. Hope to see some of you at
Holt Farm Southam in March. Happy Days.
Rallies for 2010
Feb. 12th - 14th. Anita's caravan park, Mollington , Banbury Oxfordshire
Well, Rally No2 went very well considering we had to change location due to Holt
Farm being water logged. 5 units all turned up on Friday including our new friends
Ivan & Chris who were on their 2nd rally with us. We all sorted our vans out and
the weekend commenced with drinks and a chat in our van.
Saturday most of us headed, by bus, to Nottingham for a bit of site seeing & retail
therapy. Bill & Roz braving the Big Wheel in the city centre while some of the other
males risked life & limb in various stores with their partners.  Normality returned
with us all walking to the nearby Carvery for a very reasonable meal and drinks
allowing us all to catch up on the days exploits. On returning to the site some
retired to their vans, but the diehards headed for Chris & Morag’s van for a few
drinks & nibbles where we were entertained with a name that tune session on 60’s
& 70’s music, courteous of Rod, with the evening finishing at 2 a.m. Thanks to
Chris & Morag for your hospitality.
Sunday was the usual pack up session finishing with tea, coffee & biscuits in our
van before we all headed home.
The weather was not too bad, the site was o.k. but the facilities could have been
better if they were heated & lit at night. But it all contributed to the fun & laughter
during the weekend which is what the rallies are all about, having a good time.
Looking forward to seeing you for the Easter Rally at Greenhill Farm.
Thanks for the write up Ken.
March 12th _ 14th  Nottingham
Easter Rally 2010 – Greenhills leisure park, Bletchingdon.
A total of 10 units attended, with arrivals starting on Thursday.  True to our English climate the weather
left a great deal to be desired, with lots of the wet stuff!
Over the course of the holiday everyone on site made a point of paying a visit to the new spring lambs,
they tended to become very vocal as soon as they caught site of anyone on two feet.  Apparently, to the
lambs, humans, represent   feeding time.  Many of us took great pleasure in helping to bottle feed them
and then having a cuddle.
Sunday brought us a dry day for the Easter Egg Hunt which all the children enjoyed, some with a little
help from the adults.
Sturdy’s Castle was the venue for Sunday Evening meal, where the standard, as usual could not be
faulted.
Monday morning again was dry as we all gathered for cakes and coffee and of course the usual raffle.
Many thanks, to all who kindly donated prizes.
Although we were given the option to stay on site until the afternoon, many were keen to get away by
lunchtime because of the weather forecast for wind and further rain.
True to all TEC rallies, nobody let the weather get the better of them,  what more can I say but “Mud,
glorious Mud”.
Just as a final footnote, we will be looking to book sites, which can provide hard standing for rallies,
between October and May.

Thanks to Leslie for the write up
April 1st _ 5th   Greenhills  caravan Park, Bletchingdon.
Lode Hall Holiday Park Rally May 2010
When we first found this site last year, we decided to take a chance on it even though it was in its early
stages of development. In my opinion it was well worth the risk.
Attended by 8 units, we found nice & freshly mown pitches with plenty of space for the kids to play in, a
games room with pool table and a very well kept shower block with a washing machine & washing up
area. Although the water was a little on the cool side it certainly freshened you up in the morning
Many thanks to Dick & Fran, our hosts for the weekend, for their help, friendship, and hospitality. We
would also like to thank them for the professional & compassionate way they dealt with the unfortunate
incident Sunday night that marred what would have been a great weekend.
Most of us arrived on Friday settling in for an early night before the weekend sprint around the local
places of interest, shopping area’s and garden centres with the occasional stop for food & drink. After
our evening meal, several of us congregated in the gazebo for a social drink.
Sunday was very much the same but windier. The gazebo required rescuing after a buffeting from the
wind, thanks to you ralliers who saved it from disappearing over the hedges recently planted by Dick,
before we fired up our barbecues for the first barbecue of the season.
Monday we were treated to an interesting tour around the park by Dick and Fran and shown how they
are passionately creating a David Bellamy approved conservation area for wildlife and plants. We then
completed the rally with the usual raffle organised by Helen with support from many of you with
donations of raffle prizes for which we thank you. With no need to rush off site we gradually dismantled
our rally with several units not leaving to after lunch enjoying the late arrival of the sunshine.
We now look forward to our next meeting, the Hawaiian Rally at Diamond Farm. See you then.
Thanks goes to Ken for the write up.
Lode Hall Holiday Park. May 27th - 31st
June,    Diamond Farm Hawaiian Rally

Halloa
This has to have been one of our best rallies yet.
With seven Units in attendance, festivities started about 2pm Saturday, most people dressed for the
occasion.
The drinks fountain flowed in abundance, with donations  of one description or another  (all mixed
together) from everyone  in attendance.  Not sure that it was particularly healthy but it sure tasted
good.
Some participated in Limbo dancing, with varying degrees of success. Surely our backs are not
supposed to bend that way!
For once the weather was on our side with sunshine most of the time.
We all had a drink with John, the site manager,  and  some went for a dip in the pool.
There was TV in the gazebo for those who wanted to watch the footy, some chose to watch in the bar.
Well done Helen, the gazebo decorations looked great.
Thanks to both Ken and Leslie for write up
July Rally to Stratford upon Avon.

A nice spacious site with a brilliant toilet/shower block.
Very nice cafe on site which serves a great 99p breakfast.
There was a brilliant thunderstorm on Friday as every one was on or arriving on site
but once that was over it settled down nicely.
Saturday was sorted with every one doing their own thing After treating themselves to
a breakfast on site, Then most catching the sites river taxi to town.
The town itself was a thrive of activity with coach loads of tourists and holiday makers.
Once every one was back on site after visiting most of the sale's we all made our way to the local pub
just outside the site and had a very nice meal.      When we got back to our vans.
Helen produced a very nice cake which both Emily and Molly had to blow out the candles. This was to
celebrate both girls reaching the fine age of 15.
Sunday morning once again most treated themselves to breakfast on site before the coffee and raffle.
Once the prizes were distributed, then came the hard work of breaking camp and all heading home.
Lets hope all had a pleasant trip home and we look forward to the next rally which will be held at Lode
Hall, for August bank holiday.
